Nintendo Unveils Wii MotionPlus

Date: Tue, 15. July 2008 15:04:49
Tim MacDonald writes "In a pre-conference announcement at E3, Nintendo has unveiled the newest accessory for the Nintendo Wii — the Wii MotionPlus. The Wii MotionPlus combines with the Wiimote's accelerometers and the Sensor Bar to give true, almost 1:1 matching of motion. More to come during Tuesday's conference." If all these battery mods and add-ons to the Wiimote continue my controller is going to start looking less like a controller and more like a quarterstaff. Looks like the wrist strap is going to have to go through another round of beefing up.Read more of this story at Slashdot.

Game Devs Migrating Toward iPhone, Away From Wii

Date: Sun, 7. February 2010 15:06:21
A new report by Game Developer Research reveals that the number of developers working on games for the iPhone continues to rise, roughly doubling in number from last year. At the same time, the amount of work done on games for Nintendo's Wii dropped significantly: "Just over 70 percent of developers said they were developing at least one game for PC or Mac (including browser and social games), rising slightly from last year; 41 percent reported working on console games. Within that latter group, Xbox 360 was the most popular system with 69 percent of console developers targeting it, followed by 61 percent for PlayStation 3. While those console figures stayed within a few percent of last year's results, the change in Wii adoption was much more significant: reported developer support for the system dropped from 42 percent to 30 percent of console developers, supporting numerous publishers' claims of a recent softening of the Wii market."pa href="http://games.slashdot.org/story/10/02/06/1735237/Game-Devs-Migrating-Toward-iPhone-Away-From-Wii?from=rss"img src="http://slashdot.org/slashdot-it.pl?from=rssamp;op=imageamp;style=h0amp;sid=10/02/06/1735237"/a/ppa href="http://games.slashdot.org/story/10/02/06/1735237/Game-Devs-Migrating-Toward-iPhone-Away-From-Wii?from=rss"Read more of this story/a at Slashdot./p pa href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/clvPlGG52LqMrcSfDMtE1qQJssk/0/da"img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/clvPlGG52LqMrcSfDMtE1qQJssk/0/di" border="0" ismap="true"/img/abr/ a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/clvPlGG52LqMrcSfDMtE1qQJssk/1/da"img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/clvPlGG52LqMrcSfDMtE1qQJssk/1/di" border="0" ismap="true"/img/a/pimg src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/Slashdot/slashdot/~4/27k5hOoBbq8" height="1" width="1"/
